It’s possible that your recent purchase of a Windows-powered gaming PC or handheld comes with a free 3-month Xbox Game Pass subscription. Xbox Game Pass allows users to play prominent AAA titles on supported devices by giving them access to hundreds of games on both PC and Xbox gaming consoles.
An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for three months is included in most gaming PCs, which enables users to play free games on both PC and Xbox gaming consoles. To redeem Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, one needs to have a Microsoft account, and the subscription will be linked to that account, making it easy for users to access Game Pass on multiple devices.
- Step-1: To get Xbox Game Pass, go to the Microsoft Store on your PC and use your Microsoft account to log in. If already logged in, ignore this step. This can be done on a PC running either Windows 10 or Windows 11 OS.
- Step-2: Click on the ‘library’ icon in the bottom left corner. Select the ‘included with device’ option, which will display the Game Pass subscription, and then click the ‘Claim’ button.
Next, you need to add a payment option that requires either a credit or debit card. The Xbox Game Pass code will be redeemed using the same card. Note that after three months, your credit card will be charged Rs 549 per month until you cancel your subscription.
Note: If you’ve already used an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on another device, you won’t be able to redeem another pass even if you buy a new one. To redeem the same, you must have a new Microsoft account.
Similarly, Xbox Game Pass can also be redeemed via the Xbox app by clicking on the “redeem Xbox Game Pass Ultimate” banner on the home page, and this method also requires a debit or credit card.
Microsoft currently offers two types of Xbox Game Pass — PC Games Pass, which costs Rs 349 a month and offers over 100 games, exclusively on PC, and Game Pass Ultimate for Rs 549 a month, which gives access to 100 plus games on both PC and Xbox gaming console. Microsoft offers both digital and physical gift cards for Xbox Game Pass, which can be purchased and used on any device.
