Ghaziabad Police have launched an investigation into YouTuber Shikha Metray, known online as Kuwari Begum, following accusations of sharing explicit content and promoting methods of sexually abusing infants.
An FIR was filed on June 12, based on a complaint by activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, who flagged Metray’s problematic content on X (formerly Twitter) and called for police action against the YouTuber.
In her complaint, Bhardwaj specifically mentioned a video titled ‘She will say no. Let her’ on Metray’s YouTube channel, accusing her of implying that men should ignore women’s consent and encouraging sexually aggressive behaviour towards women and children. Bhardwaj claimed Metray’s content misguides young boys.
Bhardwaj said she discovered the channel and posted clips from Metray’s videos on X, urging authorities to remove the content and take action against the self-proclaimed gamer for encouraging sexual offences against children.
Kuwari Begum faced a massive backlash after the videos quickly gained attention on social media.
Social media sleuths uncovered that Metray graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi and works in the clothing and apparel business.
Metray seems to have deleted or deactivated her social media accounts after receiving increasing criticism. Her YouTube and Instagram profiles were not accessible at the time of this report.
The police investigation is ongoing.
