Hyderabad (Telangana) – A man, along with his wife and sister-in-law, allegedly defrauded several customers of Rs. 3 crore in the name of a beauty salon franchise in Hyderabad.
According to reports, the couple, Jessica and their Gold Beauty Parlour, attracted customers through advertisements on YouTube channels. their business became popular, the trio charged Rs 3.20 lakh for the interested customers on the pretext of providing a franchise and promised a monthly salary of Rs 35,000 to those who run a franchise.
However, after receiving payments for a few months, the accused stopped providing salaries and their contact numbers were switched off. Upon realizing they had been duped, the victims visited the Pragati Nagar head office in Hyderabad, only to find it locked.
At Bachupally police station, the victims filed a complaint and the police began an investigation into the matter.
It is not the first time they have been accused of fraudulent activities and have allegations of cheating people through chit-fund schemes in Medak, Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Kamareddy districts. Reports have indicated that several victims have fallen prey to their scams.
