In an interview, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan denied the superstar’s involvement in the controversial 1998 blackbuck poaching case which put him on Lawrence Bishnoi’s hit list. The veteran writer said his son has never even killed a cockroach and is an animal lover. Salim Khan further reacted to a former BJP leader’s request to apologise to the Bishnoi community.
Death threats continue haunting Salman Khan. After the assassination of his friend, politician Baba Siddique on October 12, the Bollywood superstar’s security was levelled up to Y+. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang members sent a new threat to Salman on the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police.

He shared, “I had asked Salman who did it, and he said that he was not even present at the spot. He said that when the incident happened, he was not even in the car. Aur woh mujhse jhooth nahi bolega. Usko nahi hain shaukh jaanwar maarne ka. Jaanwaro se mohabbat karta hai woh.”
He further added, “Maafi maangna ye accept karna hai ki maine maara hai. Salman ne kabhi kisi jaanwar ko nahi maara. Humne kabhi kisi coackroach ko bhi nahi maara. Hum inn cheezo mein believe hee nahi karte (Apologising would mean admitting to it. Salman never killed any animal. We have never even killed a cockroach. We do not believe in these things).”
The former BJP MP, Harnath Singh Yadav, wrote on X in Hindi, “People make mistakes. You are a top actor, and a large number of people in the country love you. Following the daylight murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, security for Salman Khan has been tightened due to perceived links between Siddiqui’s death and the ongoing rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In the wake of these developments, Salim Khan, Salman’s father and a noted scriptwriter, dismissed claims connecting his son to Siddiqui’s murder. Speaking to INTERVIWER , Salim Khan expressed his emotions regarding the death threats received from Bishnoi, visibly tearing up as he stated,
“Let’s settle everything today; there may not be another opportunity. People are saying here and there that they won’t let go. Someone will eventually succeed. I’m not afraid of anyone; I’m very comfortable. There’s no problem.” He emphasized the importance of adhering to police advice, mentioning the restrictions on their movements. “There was a freedom that no longer exists; we can’t go here or there. The police are telling us not to sit in certain areas due to the threat of gunfire,” he added. Salim Khan also clarified that there is no connection between Baba Siddiqui’s murder and Salman Khan, stating, “I don’t think there’s any relation to this. What could Baba Siddiqui have to do with it?”
