Mumbai people were surprised when a luxury BMW valued at ₹80 lakh was taken from the parking lot of actress Shilpa Shetty’s upscale eating establishment, Bastian, in Dadar. When Ruhan Khan, a businessman from Bandra, found out about the theft when he was leaving the restaurant, he quickly filed a formal complaint at the Shivaji Park Police Station.
The event happened shortly after Khan and his pals got to the restaurant at around two in the morning. Assuming the BMW Z4 convertible would be safe, Khan gave the valet his car keys and had it parked in the basement. However, video footage later showed that two people drove into the basement in a Jeep Compass just minutes after the valet departed. They opened the BMW using sophisticated hacking techniques, and one suspect then departed in Khan’s car.
Khan asked the valet to fetch his car when the restaurant closed at four in the morning, but he was told it was gone. According to an official, “he was shocked to learn that his car disappeared from the parking lot.” It was verified that unidentified people had stolen the car after asking the building’s employees to look over the CCTV footage.
Khan notified the Shivaji Park police of the finding right after, and they looked over the video and opened an investigation. In order to track the travels of the BMW and identify the perpetrators, authorities are currently searching through local road surveillance cameras. Section 303(2) of the BNS Act, which designates it as a serious offense, is where the case was filed.
Khan voiced his worries, raising concerns about the parking facility’s security procedures and requesting better protections. To find the stolen vehicle and catch the criminals, police are still examining more video from the nearby locations.
